This show didn't run for long, which probably makes sense, because they would have run out of monsters. But Darrin McGavin's Karl Kolchak is one of the great characters ever. With his ever-present hat, he overcomes his fear to venture wherever he must to get rid of the monsters that no one else wants to acknowledge. It's also a lot of fun to recognize many of the guest stars here--everyone from Phil Silvers to Tom Skerritt. The supporting cast, especially Simon Oakland as Karl's editor, are also very good, but McGavin always steals the show.… (altro)
