And Man Created God: Is God a Human Invention? di Robert Banks
An excellent survey of the major proponents of the idea that God has been created in response to human need, sociology, psychology etc. Unfortunately assumes the objective reality of the existence of God without defending it and recommends Christians listen to the critiques to make sure their beliefs about God are consistent with what God has revealed in Scripture. So, essentially, author has not actually answered the foundational question: is God only a projection of humans or an objectively existing reality?… (altro)
Not well written, but an interesting picture of church going as worship as a social gathering, centred around food food and celebration, rather than ritual and liturgy.
Hard work, but worth the effort, because it gives historical and philosophical reasons for the changes that leave us feeling pressured and dissipated by an excessive sense of urgency. It also offers practical steps to reducing this tension and becoming more effective, not just by managing the details, but by choosing a different path.
