Bergera's article on the transgressions and disciplining of Albert Carrington was riveting. The writing was careful and respectful in handling a very sensitive issue. I'm excited to read the upcoming articles in this series.
Brackenridge's article on Mormon/Presbyterian relations was fun in telling about accusations on both sides, but it was interesting how the next generation had had enough and just wanted to cooperate for the good of the community.
Fleek's article on the politics after the U.S.-Mexican War said more about American history than Mormon history. The Mormon Battalion only appeared as a well-placed pawn in establishing the correct order of authority in governing California. Elsewhere Fleek has done a lot to clear up the mythologized history of the Battalion, and this article shows its greatest impact was a footnote in the more colorful history of western America.… (altro)
