Journey with me now back to the days of British Colonialism. Back to the jungles of British Guiana, where an intrepid band of Brits discovers a gold idol in--a head with flowing hair--in an Indian temple, and in the way of Colonialists, decide to take it home with them! Haven't these folks read about the Crystal Skull of Doom? No, of course not. The author does a nice job of making a mostly predictable tale readable and engaging, with some nice social commentary along the way. But WHAT was the cure?… (altro)

Straightforward tale of a giant cuttlefish (at least according to this story, although cuttlefish aren't as big as squids) and a rock that it is best to avoid. The sort of story you read and just say, "okay."

Well-written and enjoyable story of a man down on his luck, down to his last penny, and contemplating suicide on the Embankment in London. Led by the tosses of the penny, he proceeds in a different direction. Very pleasing to read, but relies on an impossible coincidence!

Punning locomotive salesman learns a valuable lesson about not annoying people. An engagingly written, but very minor story.
