Our naive lead falls asleep at the most inopportune moments – drifting in/out of a dreamland that mixes with the “reality” of the novel. Just out of high school, he is in the process of coming out and just happens to get fascinated by a mysterious older man who keeps a brood of models/escorts around to entertain himself. Chock full of late 60s music that provides background for drug-filled debauchery. Having known a few rich older men who had kept boys at their beck/call back in the 70s, this fantasy does not seem all that much of a stretch.… (altro)
