Second volume of Siegfried saga. This one is concentrated on Brunhilde as a background of Siegfried's journey to the mythical Land of Men. Followed by Mime, the Nibelungenian (I hope this is correct phrase :)) Siegfried finally enters the Land of Mist and starts on the path toward final confrontation with diabolical Fafnir. And [as I said] in the background there conflict between The Law (aka Odin) and his insubordinate daughter, so sad and emotional, not unlike opening pages of the story in volume 1. Odin starts to understand that he is losing more and more because of his scheme for defeating Fafnir. And so we find him standing on the precipice - how far is he ready to go to prevent the Rhein's Gold from controlling even him, The Law?

As always art is pure joy for eyes. Interspersed with story pages are magnificent two page sets of Odin and Valkyries, and incredible fantasy landscapes. Art is just incredible and it left me speechless as was case with other volumes.

Highly recommended to fans of epic fantasy and fine art,

Start of the epic story. Only thing I feel sorry for after reading this book is that author could not make a full featured animated movie. What a feast for the eyes that would be.

Drawn in the style that reminds me greatly of Disney but also Fox's Titan AE. When you look at these drawings everything looks so easy, drawn without effort.... true masterpiece.

For the majestic way of story telling just look at the intro pages where we see Siegfried's parents and their fate. Told across 5 pages (if I am not wrong could be more) and without a single uttered word. Pictures speak for themselves. Cadres, flow..... it is just .... beautifully drawn.

As one of the reviewers mentioned this volume is not in US but European format, meaning 90 pages of story and rest are special extra and commentaries from the author (followed by additional sketches and movie art (I guess from trailer)). I had no issues with this but maybe some other readers might.

All in all beautifully drawn epic fantasy. Recommended to anyone interested in fine art.

Conclusion of the grand saga of Siegfried. Story got little bit modified but in general strokes it remained faithful to [better known version of the story, through Wagner's works] story of final conflict between old and new world - Siegfried as representative of the new world manages to defeat the Fafnir the Dragon after which he is forced to denounce the old world and enter the final fight for the humanity's place under the sun.

Art is just beautiful, reminds me of the golden times of Disney animation. I have to say it is truly sad that this story was not realized [first] as a full feature animated movie (you need to check the trailer on Net, it is truly exquisite).

As a graphical version of the story it is excellent adaptation. Author managed to show the sheer epicness of this fantasy world as it gets reborn through fire.

Highly recommended to all fans of fine art.
