Once Upon A [Broken] Time (Stolen #3) by Samreen Ahsan

Myra is asked by Steve a video game developer to be his muse for a new game. She accepts and they head off to Hue Castle, a place she has been mesmerized with for some time. But when she enters she is transported through a magical mirror to another time (1415) and becomes entwined in a long family curse. She has no idea what her future holds and what connection she has to the Castle and the Royal family that dwells within.

Hue Castle in 1415, Edward is trapped inside due to a curse. He is the son of an evil King (Stefan), under his Father's grasp with little hope of happiness, until a mysterious woman shows up. He is starting to feel a strong attraction to the woman. She may hold the power to lift the the curse if they can overcome the dangers withing the walls of Hue Castle.

The story moves at a steady pace alternating from modern day to 1415. The characters are well developed some likable others not. Myra is now inside the Castle but also has her family on the outside, wondering what happened to her. Edward is molded by his Father, yet I could feel kindness brewing inside (him). More secrets are revealed, as we get closer to discovering Myra's connection to Hue Castle.

Overall I found Once Upon A Broken Time very captivating and enjoyable. I highly recommend to those who love a fantastic dark fantasy. This is the third book in the Stolen series, I strongly recommend the first two as well. Once Upon A Stolen Time , Once Upon A Fallen Time (less)

Review Once Upon A (Fallen) Time by Samreen Ahsan

In 2015 Myra meets a wealthy (video game) developer (Steve). He offers her a chance to model for one of his games, and she agrees not knowing what is about to happen. She soon becomes bound by magic and travels through a mirror to 1415 Hue Castle, a place that she has been intrigued with.

Once there she meets Edward (Hue) who has been cursed, never to see sunshine, left to live a life of gloom, until he meets Myra. But things are not easy, as Edwards Father the ruthless King Stefan has other plans. Myra may be the only one who can break Edwards curse, will she be able to free him? Will she ever make it back to Steve and her Parents?

A fast paced romance/fantasy with an original plot. Well written, alternating from the present back to 1415, with vivid details and engaging dialog. The characters are well developed where I felt as if I knew each one personally. I really Like Myra and Edward and felt as if I were part of their story. Overall I enjoyed Once Upon A [Fallen] Time (Stolen Series II) and look forward to book three. Those who love fantasy/romance should enjoy it as well. I highly recommend.

Once Upon A (stolen) Time by Samreen Ahsan

Set in 2015 Myra was obsessed with medieval castles, Kings, Princes and such. A rich computer game designer wants her as part of his virtual game, and for her to go with him to Hue Castle. A place where she always wanted to go, even though it has been unoccupied for centuries and reported to be haunted. She is thrilled and accepts his offer, not worrying about any consequences.

Back in 1415, Edward Hue is the last of the Hue bloodline. He (and his family) have been cursed, to never see sunshine, to see his own reflection, or to fall in love. He lives under the reign of his tyrant and cruel Father, a man he despises and wants to be nothing like.

But Edward is haunted by dreams of a woman, he feels she will be the one to break the curse, or doom him to darkness and destruction. Then Myra and Edwards lives collide, but what will the outcome be? Love, obsession, betrayal and possibly redemption?

A fantastic original story. Cleverly told in alternating chapters from Myra's current day, to Edward's medieval times. With attention to detail and gripping prose, I was able to feel the emotions on every page. I really liked the blending of the two eras, and the secrets waiting to be revealed.

The story is intense with dramatic moments, and suspense. Overall I felt Once Once Upon A Stolen Time was an an enjoyable read and highly recommend to those who love Adult-Romantic-Fantasy. A definite five-star read!
