The idea of performing a special "Measurement Campaign" was realized at the Central Receiver System of the SSPS in Almeria.
The aim was to gain information on both basic data and solar-specific behaviour by concentrated efforts. As time frame the period around fall equinox (design conditions: equinox noon) was chosen.
The objectives relevant to the state of the facility art were
- to record power stair steps and energy production data,
- to investigate the efficiency of the heliostat field,
- to recognize the conditions for cavity receiver losses.
Finally, the Measurement Campaign was thought to be a valuable contribution to an increased understanding of the total plant system and especially of the new items heliostats and receiver.… (altro)
