Breve biografia
Rudy Adler recently launched a Y Combinator-funded startup in San Francisco after leaving Wieden + Kennedy Portland, where he helped launch the Levi's Go Forth campaign and an award-winning campaign for the film, Coraline. Most recently, Rudy worked within Wieden + Kennedy's Entertainment division, through which he spoke as a panelist at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. He's also created work for global brands including Apple, Starbucks, and ESPN, during his five years in the advertising industry. Rudy took his first entrepreneurial steps in college, where he made a living by selling concert tickets online, and started TradeTexts.com, a used textbook exchange for students. He later co-founded Border Film Project, a book (published by Harry N. Abrams) and collaborative art project that gave disposable cameras to migrants and Minutemen on opposite sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. As projects director for GOOD magazine, he started Newspaper 2.0, an art project with the Wooster Collective in NYC. And in 2008, he created Howispentmystimulus.com, a website allowing American taxpayers to share stories about spending their economic stimulus checks. Rudy's businesses and projects have been covered by a number of media outlets including the NY Times, NPR, and CNN, who recorded Rudy nervously bobbing his head.

I'm sorry this was a library book, because I'd like to have it to sit and stare at the photos for longer. It is interesting to see how some of the migrants' photos suggest adventure, since I think of this migration as being all about hardship. And my sympathy towards the Minutemen developed as I read their words (more than when I looked at their photos).

Disturbing photo account of the troubles at the US-Mexico border. Cameras were distributed to immigrants looking to make the arduous journey into the United States illegally. Cameras were also given to the US Minutemen who watch the border line and contact Border Patrol when encountering a group/individual illegal. This simple book highlights a very difficult situation in the US.
