Five parts
An audio course from the Teaching Company. This one didn't grab me while I was listening, but all these courses have great outlines and bibliographies so you can get more deeply into the subject later.
Later: I discovered that there is just a lot less known about this period than I thought, which is why the audio course seemed thin.

No where near as stuffy as some of the other Great Courses. Highly recommended.
