It is really only a matter of time before these sorts of things come to light in view of the permissiveness with regard to torture at present. But then I am only a theorist - what do I know? :P We are about to 'truly see' how much people will actually tolerate with these new airport scanning devices! Will Ouroboros finally eat his tail? I'm not a true crime reader, but I received this book to review and since I enjoy reading about places I've visited or lived near, I was positively prejudiced toward it. I wasn't disappointed, although it was sometimes a bit of an effort. This book is written by a lawyer, so he sometimes gets absorbed in repetitive details, but I was still engaged and educated about two topics I knew little to nothing about: false confessions and the 1991 Arizona temple murders. I recommend Innocent Until Interrogated to people interested in the law, especially those planning a career in the law or law enforcement. Being aware of what's been done wrong is a good way to make sure it doesn't happen again. (copied from my Amazon review) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Recounts the events surrounding the murders of nine Buddhist temple members near Phoenix, Arizona, and the arrest of four men known as "The Tucson Four" who were coerced into confessing and held despite there being no physical evidence to connect them to the crime, and discusses how the suspects were treated by the media, even after the real killers were discovered.
