If you enjoyed The Rosary by the same author, do yourself a favor and read this too. It has many of the same characters, although their relative importance to the story has changed. Lady Myra Ingleby is the center of this novel. It's as sweet and romantic as The Rosary. (

I found this book in my Grandparents' cottage in Michigan, and read it and loved it. I found it a very refreshing read. (

It started out vigorous, slowed down in the middle and finally pooped out. I'd like to meet the Mistress of Shenstone in calmer, happier times. She has a great reputation. (
