Still a fun read - it keeps getting more true to life and it keeps bringing me in for more - I can't wait to see Rin actually grow up an I'm curious if her caregiver is going to actually be a functioning human by the end of it ( ) The fourth volume of the Bunny Drop series continues to explore the different meanings of parenthood and how Daikichi and Rin grow together - Rin in a literal sense, as she loses her baby teeth and attends elementary school, and Daikichi more metaphorically as he gains more adult/parent friendships and accepts that the changes Rin has brought to his life are more-or-less permanent. This makes a wonderful end to the series, as it very strongly echoes or ties up the story lines introduced in the first volume. Rin and Daikichi are now a family and are ready to face any difficulties together. However, from what I understand, this is only the start to the Bunny Drop series - the fifth volume begins with a time-skip of ten years, and we see Rin in high school. I'm a bit sceptical of this plot movement, as the fourth volume is such a satisfying conclusion to the story, and I'm not sure what else needs to be said, except, perhaps, for a brief epilogue that shows Rin and Daikichi's happiness and well-being in the future. I think I will consider this to be the "end" of the series for recommendations, because it is such a wonderful ending, unless the following volumes prove to be equally delightful. It is difficult for me to imagine anything that could top these four books, though, with how well this last one ties things up. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
"Having lived with his adopted daughter, Rin, for over a year now, Daikichi still considers the female mind to be far beyond his grasp! So when his cousin Haruko shows up on his doorstep with her daughter, Reina, in tow and claims to have 'run away,' Daikichi is faced with navigating the twists and turns of the female psyche to get to the bottom of Haruko's situation. And ultimately, through the perspectives of both Haruko and the other parents he meets through Rin's school, Daikichi gradually begins to comprehend the many meanings of parenthood" -- from publisher's web site.
