Con Abercrombie vai abbastanza sul sicuro che non ti becchi stereotipi ritriti.
"Tre uomini, una battaglia, nessun eroe..." dice sul retro. E infatti per la maggioranza del libro mi è sembrato più di leggere la sceneggiatura di uno dei grandi "Vietnam-war movies" tipo "Platoon", "Apocalipse now" o "Full-metal jacket". Anche lo stile beffardo ddi Abercrombie questa volta è come più contenuto, come rispettoso delle vittime di guerra, travolte in una battaglia assurda, di cui mai si conoscono le vere ragioni.
Ci sono diversi riferimenti al resto dei libri di Abercrombie, ma sono abbastanza irrilevanti ai fini della fruizione della storia: si può leggere tranquillamente senza conoscere nulla dei precedenti. ( )

Anche lo stile beffardo ddi Abercrombie questa volta è come più contenuto, come rispettoso delle vittime di guerra, travolte in una battaglia assurda, di cui mai si conoscono le vere ragioni.
