Instead of doing homework, brother watched t.v., played the game and did anything besides his work. Brother visited with his grandfather and learned that Papa procrastinated when he was a child also. Brother decided to do his work and he received a good grade. The Berenstain family were proud of Brother. This book is a good book to share with children at the beginning of a school year. Children should understand that procrastinating doesn't end well, especially in your older years. In my opinion, this is a very good book. One reason is because is it so relatable and everyone has had a similar problem of slacking off at one time or another. In the story, Brother Bear fights with his sister, forgets to unpack his lunch from his backpack, doesn’t give his parents a note from his teacher, and gets distracted by the TV when he should be doing homework. These are all very common problems that children have on a daily basis. In addition, the illustrations are very color and fill the whole page. They are very exciting illustrations that depict the events that are occurring in the story. Lastly, the rhythm of the book is very fast paced and keeps the reader engaged throughout the book. As most Berenstain Bear books do, this book takes a common issue and presents it in an easily comprehensible and child-friendly way. The main idea of the book is that people fall behind sometimes, but it is much easier to keep up with your work than to procrastinate and have to play catch up. Brother Bear was falling behind on his homework. His parents found a letter in his backpack from his teacher explaining everything. When they wen to find Brother, he was watching tv, listening to the radio, and talking on the phone. Papa said no more fun until homework was caught up. Brother was upset and after talking to his grandparents, found out his dad had been just like him. When he got home the man from the BRS was leaving. Papa had not done his taxes. Brother and Papa did their work together and both learned a lesson. This is a good book to read to students on lessons about responsibility. It also deals with family issues that many kids face. It is a short, funny book that teaches a valuable lesson. I would read this book to second grade or above. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
