"Nightmare Inspector" just keeps getting better and better with each volume! In this edition, a customer from Hiruko's past as Azusa comes back for additional help. This story also sheds more light on Hiruko's past, both as a human and as a baku. In addition, the tragic past of Mizuki and her brother comes to light and the duo take on a dynamic new border. Can't wait for the next volume! ( )

Are you interested in nightmares? Or story’s with a slightly deeper meaning? Well you should check out Nightmare Inspector Book 3 by Yumekui Kenbun. It is a manga and it can be put under horror but i think it’s more fantasy genre. It is about Hiruko the Baku the nightmare inspector himself. With him is his once sister Mizuki who owns the silver star tea house. The home of the main character. There is never just one full story other than the background of Hiruko, besides that the differing stories are of different people with nightmares that they want gone or explained. After the end Hiruko eats the nightmares. There’s one nightmare where a lady named Nobu had a dream about being a key in a room full of doors with some repressed memories behind them and a dream of a better life that my or may never come true. Throughout this first chapter she mainly remembers how the first incarnation of Hiruko “helped” her.
This book does have themes but since each dream is a chapter long and go by really fast its hard to catch them all which in a way is a bit of a negative for all the books. You have to look really deep into the context of the nightmare the easiest one is a women coming to terms with her dead lover and loving him for what he did. You can learn some life lessons from the book about being introverted. Many of the subjects brought up are dealing with death of a loved one, depression and suppressed memories just to name a few
I think people who like mystery type books that are not really mystery it's very dark in tone and in imagery both in words and in ink. Maybe some goth types will like it. I liked the dark tones and the dream aspect of the books myself the dreams are certainly the best part of every story of course as you would aspect
There is nothing much wrong with the book from what I've read and seen but there are some nit picks like some of the comic panels are to confusing or uses to much black but really there isn't much bad to talk about
Most of the imager will come from the comic panels after all this is a manga so there is not alot of imagery dialogue most characters don't really have a specific way of talking at most its just the people with nightmares coming into the tea house for the first time nervously
So i guess that is another fault there isn't much to the text .
The “Nightmare Inspector” is a really cool book with great stories with vary few connections to real life other than Japanese culture. So unless you're a weeaboo or just a vary cultural person then you probably won't get most of it but it won't impact the reading experience. People who like Japanese culture, manga , or horror/fantasy/ kind of a mystery type book will like it. From 1 to 5 I'd give it a 4.5. My reasoning behind this rating is because there isn't many references to real life and the few there is, is only to Japanese culture the dialogue isn't the most complex even for a manga and there is just to much black ink in the comic strips.
