By now, if one has been reading all the volumes up to now, no one should be surprised of the convoluted nature and manner of the crime that was committed in each storyarc. However, the first two arcs of volume 30 seems to win the prize of the 'take 3 rights instead of a left' method of committing a murder, where a crime is so convoluted that it almost seems counterproductive.

With 30 volumes, I'm getting the feeling that Aoyama is running out of material and is basically either scraping the bottom of the creativity bowl, or he drinks Kool-Aid with each chapter for inspiration. Though, the fact that he's currently around volume 66 in Japan may disprove my theory. ( )
