On of my favorite Gorey alphabet tales, or even one of my favorite Gorey tales of all time. "Z was the Zither he left for the maid." Really begs the question....Why a zither? And why give it to the maid? ( ) 'A was an author who went for a walk'..., October 22, 2014 This review is from: Vinegar Works: Chinese Obelisks (Paperback) Another of Gorey's hilarious alphabets, accompanied by his dark drawings. This one begins with 'A was an author who went for a walk' - an image of Mr Gorey himself, with beard and fur coat. It then follows him on through his journey (I loved 'I was an Infant who clung to his sleeve; J was the Jam that he gave it to leave) and the fatal accident ('X was the Exequies sparsely attended'). Wonderful. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
