Froggy wants to bake his mother a cake for her birthday but winds up making a big mess. Regardless, his mother is appreciative of the kind gesture. The illustrations in this story are so colorful and fun. I think this could be a great read-aloud book for younger students. It uses literary elements such as rhyme and onomatopoeia, which I think will make students want to read along. This book is about a frog, named Froggy, that wants to set up his mother's birthday party and make the cake all by himself. His father reminds him of stuff that needs to go into the cake, and Froggy pulls the ingredients out and puts them in the cake batter in extreme amounts. There are a couple of themes that come to mind after I read this story. The themes in this book are that it is important to try your best and if it doesn't work out just shrug it off and move on. Even though he made a mess, his parents weren't mad at him because he was trying his best and his heart was in the right place. Froggy had a good time trying to make his mom's birthday special and they ended up going to the bakery because the party didn't work out. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

In this Froggy book, it is his moms birthday. He wants to make her cake all by himself. He made and absolute mess in the kitchen and put a ton of some ingredients in the bowl. When he baked it the cake ended up exploding. He made his mom a mud pie outside and put a candle in it. She loved it. They played leapfrog to the bakery to get a cake.
I picked this book because I think Froggy books are great read aloud books. This book showed independence and problem solving skills. I think kids would relate to this book because I think everyone has plans that don't always go their way. Also, the pictures were cute in this book ( )
