The book states that it is for everyone that wants to handle their finances. Yet, I strongly disagree that this content is written for everyone. It reads like a textbook, including questions and a summary with the answers. I can see this used for a classroom, via teacher's guide or reference book.

I requested a copy because I thought it was something I could use content for the positive voluntary program I facilitate at work library, Financial Literacy Preparedness. Thus far, I have not found anything resourceful for my sessions nor for myself at this time. (I hope the Budget chapter is resourceful).

My complimentary copy is marked up on every page with "vibrant publishers, free copy" which makes it difficult to read. I requested a Kindle copy to review, yet I have to read it on my computer screen instead.

Why I picked this book up: I won this in the LT, January 2024 early review batch. It allowed for 8 weeks to get the electronic book sent to me. I had difficulty opening to read and Vibrant Publishers helped me get access to this wonderful book.

Thoughts: as a child I was taught to go to school, get a good job, put money in the bank,not to spend more than I make, take fun vacations and provide for my family without much more than those. Reading this book slapped me across the face and I now see I miss out on vital information.

Why I finished this read: From page one, this great Self-Learning Management Series designed to help students, managers, career switchers, and entrepreneurs learn essential management lessons was top of rate. It had a lot of learning with fantastic and realistic ways of teaching complex financial basics broken down into very simple ways.

I was given a free copy of "Personal Finance Essentials You Always Wanted to Know" via LibraryThing. Growing up, my family did not share household income/finances with my siblings and me. I would have loved to have a book like this when I was a young adult trying to navigate income and finances. This is a great book/guide to help a young adult just starting their lives or anyone who wants to be more informed about being a financially responsible person. ( )

This is an e-book about many areas of personal finance. Unfortunately for me, it is unusable. Has a large watermark across each page of 200+. Too bad they couldn't have provided a paper book. ( )

A detailed and well-organized book about personal finance that would make a great gift for a high schooler or young adult. This work is a complete introduction to many financial essentials and there are quizzes included at the end of each section. Only suggestion is to incorporate a brief conclusion at the end.
