Lloyd Jacobs graduated from Miami University of Ohio and from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He practiced Surgery for many years, ultimately as Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan. He was appointed President of the Medical College of Ohio in 2003 and became President of the combined institution when the Medical College of Ohio merged into the University of Toledo. He served in this role until 2015. He currently writes poetry daily and has established a modest publication record. Jacobs' poetry is almost invariably blank verse of a classical form"--
