The second I read the teaser for Poison Roses, I started counting down the days until its release. Whenever Tate James and Jaymin Eve come together, magic is sure to follow and this book definitely didn’t disappoint.

Poison Roses is the first book in a four-part reverse harem series. Its rockstars meets mafia boss, with a dash of enemies to lovers and second chance romance.

After a bad breakup with her high school boyfriend, Billie’s life goes from bad to worse. One disaster after another befalls Billie, all while her ex becomes famous with his rock band named after her and albums full of songs about her past mistakes. Billie largely ignores this, as she never expects to see him again.

However, years later Billie witnesses a crime. This sends Billie running for her life and right into the lap of the Bellrose Boys. What follows is an intriguing start to this four-part series, filled with all the angst and tension a reader could possibly want.

This book sets the ground for the rest of the series. It has the twists Tate James is known for and the angst Jaymin Eve is amazing at building. Like many first books in a series, it does seem to spend the majority of its time setting up the rest of the series. However, the tension and mystery propel the story forward and made Poison Roses almost impossible to put down. I am now, once again, impatiently waiting for a release date—this time for book two, Dirty Truths!
