"Amid magical shenanigans in charming Starfall Point, this book might just have you laughing out loud." ??Hazel Beck, author of Big Little Spells and Small Town, Big Magic

Juggling newfound witchy powers, a house full of ghosts, and verbal battles with the handsome local librarian is almost too much for a new witch to manage. But falling in love with said librarian wasn't on her to-do list...

From the moment Riley Everett set foot in Starfall Point, magic bubbled inside of her. But with only her late aunt's journals and a cantankerous live-in ghost butler to instruct her on all things witchy??including her newly inherited Victorian haunted house??Riley seeks out a coven for sisterhood and support. The last person she expects to be drawn to is the town's frustrating, yet ridiculously attractive head librarian.

Edison Held knows almost everything there is to know about Starfall Point, but Shaddow House was always off-limits, thanks to its elusive owner. If he can convince the new owner, Riley, to let him take a peek inside, there's so much he could learn. But as he gets closer to Riley, he's fascinated by her dazzling wit and fiery spirit. Edison will do whatever he can to help Riley keep her family legacy alive, especially if it means spending more time with the captivating new witch in town.

Bestselling author Molly Harper wields a magical pen in this hilarious, delightful witchy romcom perfect for fans of Erin Sterling and Lana Harper.

"If you're looking for an adorable yet hard-hitting paranormal romance, Witches Get Stuff Done is an absolute must." ??Culturess

"The combination of smart protagonists, ghosts, and witches is good fun and readers will look forward to future escapades." ??Book… (altro)

The main chick was just so ridiculously rude to the librarian dude - didn’t like her.

Riley inherits a haunted house that comes with a long list of tasks to protect it—but her favorite is to help unhappy ghosts find their way to the other side. She meets Edison in the most awkward way possible on the ferry to the island where he works and she learns she’s a witch and about her inheritance. It’s a sweet and compelling story about them and the house. I’d listen to the next in the series coming soon. ( )

I don't read a lot of romantic comedies, but I do read anything written by Molly Harper. Her stories are my favorite form of escapism. I know the characters will use sarcasm as their love language, be fiercely loyal, and be completely lovable. There will be antics and hijinks. I might be able to solve the mystery, and I might not. No matter what, though, I will thoroughly enjoy my time reading.

Witches Get Stuff Done is Ms. Harper's latest book. She released it last year as an audiobook on Audible, with the inimitable Amanda Ronconi as her narrator. Readers looking for a print copy can buy one on or after 5 September 2023.

Witches Get Stuff Done is also the beginning of a new series for Ms. Harper. The new series occurs on and around a fictional island in Lake Huron, similar to Mackinac Island in locale and tourist attractions without the five-mile bridge that connects it to the Michigan mainland. I appreciate the change in setting. The Midwest does not get enough literary love, with most novels occurring in the south or on the coasts if set in the United States. Ms. Harper does a great job of including midwestern hardiness, quirkiness, passive-aggressive niceness, and tired politeness of tourist season.

Also different in this series is a lack of werewolves, vampires, and other mythological creatures - characters who populate most of Ms. Harper's novels. Instead, her focus this time is on witches. And not just a witch who can perform spells and do magic. No. This time, we get a witch whose magic keeps the world safe from evil spirits. Except said witch doesn't know that until she arrives.

As expected, while Riley is a great character with all the snark and self-deprecation I could want, the supporting cast of characters is so much fun. The main love interest in Witches Get Stuff Done is a librarian, and I need more of him. He is so adorable in a dorky, socially awkward, academic way. Riley's new friends are also a riot, and I cannot wait to see more of their shenanigans in future books.

Witches Get Stuff Done is the perfect book to help you prepare for the spooky season. Not only does it revolve around witches, magic, and ghosts, but it also occurs during the autumn and winter months. As an added bonus, Ms. Harper throws in enough twists and red herrings to prevent you from solving the overarching mystery. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Riley and Edison in future books! ( )

Riley has just discovered that she is a witch. She has floated through life doing whatever menial job available and come to find out, she has a destiny. Her parents kept all this a secret from her. She did not find out anything until her aunt died and Riley was blindsided. Riley has inherited her Aunt’s old Victorian home. But she soon discovers it is full of ghosts and thousands of secrets!

I just adore Molly Harper. I have been a fan since I read Sweet Tea and Sympathy. She always has some great characters and this book has some of the best! I just loved Riley and all the ghosts in the house! I cracked up at their antics!

This book is perfect for fall…ghosts, witches, enchanted items and a little bit of love thrown into the mix!

Need a cute read to get you in the mood for Halloween…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review. ( )
