WOW!! Another great read in this new mafia series that I just could not put down. In this book we’re introduced to Miko the new leader of the Polish mafia and his hatred for the other mafia branches is festering and he is ready to seek revenge. Miko has plans in place to hurt the Irish and Italian mafia members for the death of his dad and the first thing on his list is kidnap Nessa Griffin the younger sister to Cal. Nessa is the baby of her family so she spoiled and naïve, she has a heart of gold but isn’t made for the mafia life her family is. When she is kidnapped, she is distraught but the more time she spends on her own or near Miko we start to see her change and come into her own skin. She is still sweet and friendly, but she finds a determination and strength she never knew was inside her. Total opposites that live totally two different lives are brought together and as they try to fight the impending attraction brewing, they are also trying to navigate a life of revenge, love, loyalty, and being strong. When love should be impossible can they find it in each other or are they doomed from the beginning because revenge is too tempting, or can they let go and move forward? I was pulling so hard for these two to get together I even shipped them, Team Nesko or Team Missa. A highly entertaining read that pulls you into the world of mafia families who are full of passion, loyalty, and revenge. ( )

It has books, dancing, and a creepy old house. All my favorite things. What’s not to love? Without a doubt my favorite Sophie Lark book ( )

Nope. Didn’t like this one. Miko’s turnaround wasn’t believable and Nessa falling for him even less so. ( )

Stolen Heir is a mafia romance and a retelling of Beauty and the Beast.

Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairytale so I always had high expectations for any of its retelling and that's why I wasn't sold with Stolen Heir. In fact, I found it annoying how Nessa kept referring to Miko as "Beast" in the first few chapters and I struggled to find any similarities with the fairytale other than the haunted mansion.

The beginning was slow for my liking, and I really struggled to keep reading because at first I was so exasperated with Nessa and her weak and pushover personality. Like, girl... fight, scream, do something, anything! I also struggled with "Mikolaj" at first. He was like a statue. No emotions, no reaction, nothing. Which now that I think about it, it's part of the experience I guess.


But I'm so glad I didn't DNF it. Once they had their first really conversation (that's the tattoo one for me) I was looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next.


I also came to love Mikolaj and Nessa, together and as sole character. I specially loved how Nessa's character developed from a frightened kitty to a tigress, a sweet little tigress but still.

Also loved Klara, I wish there was a book with her story.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and even liked it better than the first one of the series. ( )
