Emmy Garrett is on the run and Dwight Reynolds is the only person that can be trusted to help her. at least that's what the US Marshal in charge of her case seems to say. Dwight has left this life behind but when his friend asks him to protect Emmy he's going to go above and beyond to keep her safe. He just didn't expect to find love with her amidst all the danger and threats. A romantic suspense/thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat and rooting for the couple to have an amazing HEA. Advanced review copy provided for voluntary review consideration Emmy Garrett is on the run from a mob boss. She saw him commit a crime and ran straight to the DA then Witness Protection. But a hitman found her and if not for US Marshal Dalton Silva happening to stop by and check on her she'd be dead. Dalton knows someone is on the boss' payroll. Who can he trust to help him protect Emmy. Try Dwight Reynolds. He's ex-FBI and Homeland Security. Best of all he has a ranch in the middle of nowhere Montana. Small town means any outsiders will be noticed quickly, give them time to hide or run. Emmy is a bundle of nerves but Dwight's dog, Sam, helps her with her anxiety attacks. He's a service dog so he knows what to do. I love the fact that not only is there a man to help protect her but the important part pets can play is shown here. And in such a loving way too. We meet Dwight's sister, Victoria, as Emmy has been dropped off on his doorstep with nothing more than the clothes on her back. Not the most ideal of situations. She steps in to help him get her clothing and to check out this woman whom her brother is showing a lot of interest in. Cue funny scene....Dwight going to the store to buy undergarments for Emmy. Oh boy, I would have loved to have seen the look on his face when confronted with all the choices for bras!!!! At any rate, it's nice to watch these two learn about each other and feel their attraction get stronger and stronger. Emmy's not so sure they'll have much time together, she's still worried she won't make it to testify. Dwight keeps trying to reassure her and is planning on forever. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an advance reader copy of this story. Home For A Cowboy Christmas is an adventure as well as a romance. Emmy is tired of running & hiding but she doesn't want to die either so she's on her way to another safe haven. Dwight is ex-military, ex-FBI, & ex-Homeland Security. He's actually got his head on pretty straight for a guy who's seen his share of evil & death. With Dwight & Emmy being attracted to each other & living in close quarters you can imagine it gets a little hot. Emmy's been at the ranch long enough to start feeling a bit safe from the mob killer so she's the first to act on her feelings. These 2 are a nice couple, have a great relationship and it's a ice story. #HomeForACowboyChristmas #DonnaGrant #StMartin'sPaperbacks #Netgalley #romance #cowboy Home for a Cowboy Christmas by Donna Grant Romantic suspense for the holidays sees a man willing to protect a woman who’s life is in danger and an eventual HEA if they both can stay alive till the end of the book. What I liked: * Emmy Garrett: bright, scared, suffering from PTSD, hoping to stay alive to testify against a mob boss after seeing something that put a bounty on her head. A woman I liked and admired and perfect for Dwight. * Dwight Reynolds: cowboy, ranch owner, ex-military, ex FBI, ex homeland security, brother, son, protective, capable, charming, knows he loves Emmy and wants her in his life. * That Dwight and Emmy seemed to balance one another. * Sam: canine friend and companion as well as a great support dog. * Dalton Silva: US Marshall, friend of Dwight’s, honest, incorruptible, good man, wise, skilled, someone I’d want on my side. * Dwight’s community and how they pulled together for one another * The chemistry between Dwight and Emmy and her ability to state what she wanted * Victoria: Dwight’s sister and all around good person * That it was believable * The writing – well done and I felt I was there * That I could hate the bad guys * That good triumphed over evil What I didn’t like: * Joe Roma the mob boss, Orso the assassin, Tony the bff of Joe, and the corrupt marshals…wonder if they were caught Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more by this author? Yes Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Tis the season--for everyone except Emmy Garrett. She's on the run after witnessing a crime. But when it becomes clear that trouble will continue following her, the US Marshal in charge takes her somewhere no one will think to look-Montana. Not only is Emmy in a new place for her protection, but now, she's stuck with a handsome cowboy as her bodyguard...and she wants to do more than kiss him under the mistletoe. Dwight Reynolds left behind his old career, but it's still in his blood. When an old friend calls in a favor, Dwight opens his home to a woman on the run. He tries to keep his distance, but there's something about Emmy he can't resist. She stokes his passion and turns his cold nights into warm ones. When danger shows up looking for Emmy, Dwight risks everything to keep her safe. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
