“Rudi’s Pond,” is a very sad story of a girl whose best friend passes away. The girl is not coping with the loss very well, so the teacher suggests that she build a memorial in the name of her friend to help her cope. The girl makes a pond and by finding a healthy outlet to cope with the loss of her friend, she learns how to regulate her feelings. I would recommend this book for ages 4-8. The illustrations are realistic and meaningful and give great context for the theme of the story.

This is an emotional book about a young boy who dies and his best friend is struggling coping with the loss, her friends and peers help her cope with it and help make a pond in honor of the boys life. This would be read one on one to a child dealing with a loss. ages 4+
