The wolf helps a little bird with one wing that did not fully develop participate in a race called ~ahem~ "The Fast and the Featheriest." It wants to be madcap and fast-paced with a heart-warming ending, but I was just bored out of my mind throughout. ( )

The author mixes story and lesson and comedy so well. There are laughs aplenty and lots of talk of underwear, but in the end, wolf is as helpful as ever. ( )

This is a good nook for intermediate readers. This book does not contain a lot of good ideas that are important to a child's education. This book is about a wolf in underpants who runs a race, it would be a very humorous book for young readers but it does not have any educational value to it. I would keep this in my classroom so students could enjoy a good laugh. ( )

Intermediate. This is about a wolf who is getting ready for a race in the forest, but someone is messing with the decorations. He discovers a bird who has always felt left out, so he doesn't like the race. The wolf eventually befriends the bird so that he no longer feels left out. This book would be great to use to show that we should think about our actions and make sure that they are inclusive, and also how friendship can develop in unlikely places.
