I was expecting much better from Christine Feehan than what this book provided. Unfortunately, this book was excruciating to get into and didn't hold my attention until well into the second half. I had quit reading CF because it had gotten to the point her characters were unlikable, most of the book was detailed sex scenes and very little story. However, this book is different. If she continues along this vein I'll be reading her again. Going off to see if this is the beginning of a new series. Stella has had to live for years with the fact that her nightmares are what brought down her serial killer father, leading to her mother's suicide. In the quiet of the Eastern Sierras at her resort, the nightmares have returned, meaning someone close to her is a serial killer and is about to strike down a fisherman. Her unrequited attraction to Sam, her handyman has gone on for almost the entire two years that he has worked for her, but now that there is a serial killer in their midst, Stella has to trust someone. When Sam is almost killed, she tells him about her nightmares and together, they set out to trap a serial killer. Highly anticipated thriller, Murder at Sunrise Lake, written by paranormal superstar, Christine Feehan should be so much better than it is. The premise of the story is interesting, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Too many characters come and go, whose story lines seem to go nowhere. The romance between Stella and Sam starts out as very believable since they have been dancing around each other for two years, but the heat between them seems lukewarm at best. While the regimented dreams leading up to the serial killings is an unusual take on this trope, however, it becomes little more than a plot device by the end of the story. Overall, Murder at Sunrise Lake is a big disappointment, leaving this reader feeling a very big let down. 2 1/2 stars nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan reaches new heights of passion and suspense in this thrilling novel that takes readers deep into the California backcountry, where a woman is tormented by visions of a killer. It starts in her dreams. Hideous flashes from a nightmare only she can stop. Images of a murderer stalking the ones she cares about most... Stella Harrison thought she got away from the traumas of her past. Running the Sunrise Lake resort high in the Sierra Nevada mountains has brought her peace, even though she doesn't truly share her quiet life with anyone. Not even Sam, the hired handyman that notices everything and always seems to know exactly what she needs. Stella doesn't know anything about Sam's past, but somehow over the last two years his slow, steady presence has slipped past her defenses. Still, she knows she can't tell him about her recent premonitions. So far there's been no murder. No body. No way to prove what's about to happen without destroying the life she's built for herself. But a killer is out there. And Stella knows that this time she'll do whatever it takes to stop him. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
