I really enjoyed the build-up in this novella, but then it abruptly ended! I would have preferred a few more chapters - which is why I am not giving this a 3.5 or 4 star rating. But the writing is good and this has so funny moments. ( )

In theory, this story sounds like a fun rom com. And it could have been. But it just didn’t work for me. There were some cute and funny moments. But a lot of it was just kind of strange. I couldn’t really get a handle on the characters and couldn’t really make much of a connection with them. I didn’t understand the mandatory work “party” that lasted for weeks and forced the employees to work and be away from their families. Even if it was an all inclusive paid trip to a vacation wonderland. What was the point if the bosses were just going to overwork them? And I get that out main characters apparently had a love/hate thing going for years. But they went from toxic to not in the span of a nanosecond and it left me kind of confused. Yeah, I didn’t quite get this book. But I did love the cover. ( )
