This book takes the reader through some very interesting facts about the well known yet not so well known playwright of all time. It takes you from the time he was first setting off to study theater in London to when he eventually becomes wealthy and obviously quite successful. This was a pretty cute book. I had never really realized that even though I know of Shakespeare pretty well, I don't really know anything about him. I found these facts really intriguing and it left me wanting to go curl up with one of his plays just for kicks. I think this would be a great book to get kids started in writing and reading. Sometimes the hardest thing about getting into a book is not understanding where the author is coming from. Reading about Shakespeare might spark an interest in the kids to actually read the works themselves and who better to learn how to write from than Shakespeare himself. I would think this book would be most suitable for older kids like 4 grade and up. It has a lot of extra notes about other famous people and events from the time period which would make a great introduction or supplement to those topics as well. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

The greatest writer of all time. Writer of plays like hamlet. The long speeches in the plays were so the characters could express their feeling. Somehow I wonder how he even wanted to be a writer. He grew up in a glove shop. Until it went out of business. The term Shakespeare comes from him. His writing is like another English. Original plays were boring. When Shakespeare came, he turned the stage into a paradise. He wrote comedies, tragedies, and histories. What I forgot to mention he wrote knock knock who’s there.
