Hero and heroine were in same high school though she was younger than him so although he noticed her, her age meant he wouldn't have got involved. No other woman or man drama. Brief mention of high school girlfriend. It's been mentioned its slow burn, when they meet they both are thinking of sex quite quickly and have sex, with no feelings but its slow burn in the sense that making the marriage real takes longer. It was okay. HEA. Epilogue. As a sidenote I hate the cover. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Logan Crowne needs one year from Ella. Twelve months living in his house, holding his hand, wearing his ring on her finger, and in exchange, she'll get her father's company in the divorce settlement. They have one year to convince his skeptical parents that they're happily in love, and he's settled enough to run Crowne Industries. Ella wants the company badly enough to live with a man who will never love her. She'll sleep in his room and kiss him for show. Her heart may melt whenever he's around, and his touch may ignite a fire inside her, but surrender will break her heart. She's sure she can last a year without giving him her body. She's wrong. ----- CROWNE OF LIES is a standalone. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

One of my favorite things about this author is her ability to create characters that evolve throughout the story. They always have a certain charisma to them and even though they are magnetic and one of a kind, they still grow to be more. That was most assuredly the case in this book. She took an often written trope and made it special and unique.
From the last book, we were introduced to work-obsessed Logan and it was just inferred that he would discover what it was that his father expected of him. That happened in a way but it also was so much more. I thought he would just cut back and spend more time because he fell head over heels for Ella. In a way that was true but he also found a sense of freedom by being a little wild that only she could have taught him. Ella had her own issues to deal with. She also had to break free of what it was that she felt she had to live for. In the process, ultimately, they both found their own identity. One that wasn't just deemed to be a role that they both needed to fill, independently and together, thus making the journey that much more rewarding.
I liked this story as much as Byron and Oliva. I did have a few areas that I wanted further expansion on. One of those being about the bombshell that Doreen drops. I am assuming that will come out later on down the line. It just felt out of place in the context of the story and instead would have been a segway to an additional story. Either way, this author knows what she is doing and I will look forward to the ride. This is a big family and I cannot wait too many more stories. ( )
