FOR SALE: A lovely family home with good-sized garden and treehouse occupying a plot close to woodland. Perfect for kids, fitness enthusiasts, dog walkers . . . And, it seems, the perfect hunting ground for a serial killer. Sounds good right? Sometimes the blurb on the book can be better than the actual book but not in this case. This book lives up to the blurb plus so much more. And if you have read her other books Rattle and The Collector then you know what you are letting yourselves in for with this one. The Neighbour is her best book yet. Filled with some memorable characters, not all likeable it will make your street and neighbours seem less irritating and much more likeable OH. MY. GOD. This one was a horrific surprise! I was bored at first and a little taken aback with the mixed POVs and narration styles. I came close to DNFing it but I am so glad I kept going. The various POVs grew on me and before I knew it, I was hooked. This neighborhood was a mix of some of the WORST people which made it nearly impossible to figure out who the killer was! And just when you think you have it figured out, Fiona Cummins pulls another twist out of her bag. If you like thrillers that are full of murder and mystery, this is for you. It's an uncomfortable read, but that's what makes this genre so addictive. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this one! All opinions are my own. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

It's the fresh start they and their two children badly need. Soon, these terrible crimes will be solved, they tell themselves, and once Garrick has remodeled, he's confident they'll sell the house for a profit. But the darkest secrets can reside on quiet, ordinary streets like this--behind the doors of well-kept houses and neighbors' friendly faces. Garrick and Olivia Lockwood are in need of a change, and can't afford much, so they purchase a home on the edge of the woods where the bodies were found. Sadly, this house is too close to the danger, and Olivia changes everything one night when she falls in the woods.
Insp. Wildeve's husband, Adam Stanton, is a victim of the killer, and Wild is desperate for answers. As she investigates the case against the wishes of her superiors, she stumbles onto some sinister secrets. The ending may surprise you.
I would have rated it higher, but the storyline was a bit confusing for me. ( )
