Arfy the dog writes persuasive letters to families he knows to try to find the right home for a homeless kitten. Hijinks result, but all ends well.

Oh my goodness, I think I might like this book even more than "Can I Be Your Dog?" It has many of the same similarities (especially using the letter writing back and forth--it's why I use it when teaching ECRTR.) However, finding a home for Scamper is the main part of the tale.

In the end, which I won't spoil, Scamper finds the perfect place--just like Arfy did. =) I think adults and children alike will smile at this book. ( )

Arfy is one lucky dog. He has a family who loves him and he has a great life. One day as he is walking along sniffing the ground and he smells something different. He finds a cute little kitten. It was a new friend. Arfy is determined to find a home for this little cutie. He writes letters to a music teacher. He tells the teacher all of his new friend, Scampers redeeming qualities. He goes through the story imploring babies, and a mechanic as well as a snazzy hotel to give Scamper a home. The only problem is that none of these are a good fit for Scamper. He tells Arfy thank you in a letter and not to worry. The try one last place and at last Scamper has found a furever home. I would recommend this for any collection and for dog and cat lovers alike. The illustrations are sweet and reminiscent of days gone by and the old cartoons. The illustrations are colorful and will keep the readers attention until the end to find out what happens to Scamper. ( )

A cute retread of the first book in the series as Arfy, the letter-writing dog, applies his skills toward the adoption of a stray cat he finds in his neighborhood. ( )
