Fiction. Mystery. HTML:A suspicious fire. A Valentine's Day discovery. Will this psychic sleuth gamble??and lose?

Mitzy Moon's clairvoyant abilities are growing, but she never predicted arson. After waking to a towering inferno and loading her mentor into an ambulance, she thought things couldn't get worse. But when the sheriff links her father to the blaze, she's forced to take the case.

Coming up empty on love and leads pushes Mitzy to unnecessary risks. Now her otherworldly helpers, a nosy Ghost-ma and a fiendish feline, are the only ones who can save her bacon. But with break-ins, Bingo, and big storms stalling out her investigation, she may not be able to keep her dad out of jail.

Can Mitzy dig up the right clues, or will she fall for a sinister plot that puts her six feet under?

Sparks and Landmarks is the fourth book in the hilarious paranormal cozy mystery series, Mitzy Moon Mysteries. If you like snarky heroines, supernatural intrigue, and a dash of romance, then you'll love Trixie Silvertale's twisty whodunits.

The most infuriating thing in these books is the constant reiterating of everything. It makes me feel like the author doesn't think her readers are that bright. while I get making each book read rather stand alone comes with mentioning key elements, having to tell us every citizens entire back story in each book can read very dauntingly. But it's the repetitiveness of some peoples previous book antics really sends it over the top. These books are written in first person, so many of these "hey here is how my gram became a ghost for the 5th time in the same book" paragraphs really take you out of the story as a person wouldn't actually recall that information each time they interacted or thought of the person it's in regards to.

Aside from that non-sense, the extremely colorful adverbs & adjectives are way toned down in this book YAY! and the story gives us deeper insight into the characters and the sleepy little town of pin cherry. I absolutely love the town and all of the people, very true to small town living.

Mizty isn't the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to decision making but she should def. ponder running for sheriff when the next election comes around.

I received this book via Hidden Gems Books. ( )

This series is such a surprise for me. When I read the first book, I wasn’t so sure about Mitzy. But every book has been solid! This book is no different, except to endear Mitzy to me even more!
Mitzy starts out a troubled girl, a bit rough around the edges. Foster care will do that to you. But now that she is settling in to her inheritance, has found her family and friends, she is overcoming her childhood. I love this series so much! Every book shows positive growth in Mitzy. Her love for her family reminds those of us who have been lucky, just how lucky we are. For those of us with family that left us yearning for love, well, she reminds us that family can be who you want it to be and it’s never too late to acquire one. Her romantic life seems to be getting a boost. Though that might get tricky as there may be two fellers in the running. I enjoy this storyline more than I should for a cozy mystery. The mystery. Ah, the mystery! Very well done. As with each of the books, the mystery is completed by the end of the book. I really found this mystery to be interesting. I like how it played out. I don’t want to say much about it so your enjoyment isn’t ruined. Though I do want to talk about it. Ah, the problem of a good book! Go. Read the book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. ( )

I am completely hooked! I anxiously await the release of each new book in this fun, heartwarming series. Mitzy Moon is a totally lovable character. She wears her big heart on her sleeve, is a bit of a klutz, and is always appreciative of her new life. While there is a mystery to be solved in each book, my favorite part of the entire series is the love among the characters and how Mitzy went from being an orphan to now being part of a family that loves her immediately.

In “Sparks and Landmarks” Mitzy again stumbles into (or, in this book, falls into) trouble. But this time, Mitzy’s father is the prime suspect. Will this derail the father-daughter relationship they have been working on? Will Sheriff Erick (aka Sheriff Too-Hot-Handle) finally show some interest in Mitzy? And Pye – I cannot get enough of Pye!

Mitzy is getting more confident with her psychic powers, with some mentoring from Silas. Grams is finding ways to communicate with friends not yet – well…dead. And Odell continues to keep Mitzy supplied with burgers and fries. With all this going on there is still lots of humor. These characters seem so real! I wouldn’t mind living in Pin Cherry Harbor.

These are quick, fun reads. Great for a relaxing weekend read. Ready for book #5! Can’t wait to read more of the growing relationships in Pin Cherry Harbor. ( )
