What you might not guess from the cover: "bricks you already own" assumes you own a LOT of Lego Technic, which may not be the case for the average Lego-owning family. And Lego Technic is great stuff and not all that difficult to work with, but it does take the small-muscle coordination and hand strength of a 10-12 year old at least, to assemble -- and keeping the small parts sorted and not losing them really does require the organizational abilities of a VERY dedicated 12 year old up to an adult.
I don't think my engineer son took all the Lego Technic when he moved out; somewhere there should be a tackle box with all the pieces sorted by size and shape (he was a highly organized and methodical adolescent) which I am eager to get out so my grandchildren and I can try some of these builds. (
