In the book, The Tail of Max the Mindless Dog, A Children's Book on Mindfulness, Max's tail is oftentimes injured. Due to no fault of his own, his tail constantly hurts. Believing his tail to be the source of his pain, Max sets out to catch it and tie it in a knot. In doing so, he develops a habit of running in circles; it is this habit that prevents him from enjoying life fully. It is only when he has been introduced to Mindfulness: The Belly Breath, Count of Ten, and Words of Affirmation that Max is able to replace his negative habits with more productive ones. Max is then able to share his new habit with his friends and once old, he pays life forward by interceding a young puppy who like him has a habit of chasing his tail. Max is beautifully illustrated and is landscape 11 x 8.5. It begins in Sepia to demonstrate to children what pain "looks like". As Max is introduced and begins to practice Mindfulness, the colors change to brilliant, bright hues. Children are able to immediately see the transformation that takes place in Max's life.
