"A joyful, poetic celebration of kindergarten and first grade Poet Kay Winters has written a book of zippy poems centering on the triumphs and trials of those first school years. This cheery collection covers an astonishing range of activities from the anticipated--dashing to the bus and science class discoveries--to the completely unexpected--losing a permission slip and seeing a teacher outside the classroom. Patrice Barton's sweetly smudgy watercolor illustrations show a wonderfully diverse class of young students, making this an ideal selection for every collection"-- "This collection of poems celebrates the joys of early elementary school, following a group of kids through experiences ranging from the everyday to the completely unexpected"--… (altro)

This book is appropriate for kindergarten-2nd. This book is filled with poems about school and the different emotions students go through throughout the year. This book is great because it's poetry that relates to the students. Students will feel connected to the students in the book which will make them more interested to read it. I would use this in my classroom during the poetry unit. ( )

This set of poems describes and explains different things that may occur at school. From fire drills to class pets, this book is great for the classroom. This book would be great for a 2nd to 3rd grade classroom. A way to integrate this into my classroom would be to ask students some of their own favorite school experiences and write our own poems about them. ( )

This book was all about the different parts of school, and children. I think that this book could be great for any age up to about 5th grade. I think that the pictures were very nice, and they went along very well with the poems. ( )

Cute poems to get kids excited about school. Every poem rhymes and is up beat. The cute cartoon illustrations make this the perfect book for younger students. My two year old loved the sing songy rhymes. ( )

Did you hear what I heard is a book of poems. Every poem relates to school and they are all very cute. My favorite poem was My Filed Trip Permission Slip. As a mother we are always looking for lost papers. So this poem was very relatable. ( )
