The first revolutionary fairy tale in Soviet literature attracting a myriad of emotional reactions: 'How stories for children should not be', 'Apologetics by the artistic intelligentsia accepting the revolution'. But for the vast majority of ordinary Russians this story brought genuine warmth, wisdom and smiles characteristic for timeless fairy tale genre, albeit presented in new post-revolutionary setting. Numerous theatre, ballet and film adaptations followed. This audio play is read in Russian by a collective of prominent acting talent including Mikhail Efremov and Alexey Veselkin.
