I had mixed feelings after reading "Fall is for School" by Robert Neubecker. It was a cute book about how students should get excited about learning new things in the fall when school starts, but I found the point of the book a little unclear. The story emphasizes all the different subjects that they will learn in school, but I would have liked to see more information about fall in general and activities that are done during the fall season. I did however enjoy the illustrations which brought the story to life with the vibrant colors and fit the mood of the story overall. "Fall is for School" is an appropriate book to introduce students when school starts, but not if you are trying to emphasize fall themes and teach a lesson based on the fall season. ( )

A tale of summer's end,
Shared in rhyme and meter;
That reminds us all,
Interest in school can peter.
From child to child,
Different levels are seen;
Many times over,
I'm not being mean!

It's a simple statement,
A matter of fact;
Not everyone learns
With the same tact(ics).
That's why we consider,
The subjects at hand;
And remind little learners,
They're numerous like sand.
