A small backstory: Hexley Airport had a tragic disaster ten years ago when a plane crashed killing everyone on board. Since then things are just not right with the airport as ghostly activity seems to have abound in and around the airport. Casey is just getting used to her new security job up in the terminal and Tom is trying to teach her the ropes of what her job entails. While Casey is learning the ropes she also has feelings of the ghostly activity in the airport whereas Tom is in denial most of the time as he doesn't believe in ghosts. Then the haunting escalates and things take a more sinister turn which ends up making Tom a believer and giving Casey more to think about as she finally starts seeing apparitions. Thoughts: This story was very creepy right from the beginning of the book and continues on with the atmospheric haunting throughout most of the storyline. Around 60% into the book the haunting goes into full bloom and the book is just non-stop with things happening. There is a major twist though near the end of the book which threw me for a loop as I never saw it coming and which made the mystery of the haunting more in-depth! Though there were some unanswered questions about certain things with the story, but all in all it was a very spooky ghost story! Giving this one five "Boo-Spooky" stars! Wobbles at the end by committing the worst sin a horror novel can commit: diluting the ineffable. Until the end, however, Ghosts of Hexley Airport manages to maintain a strong current of mystery and dread, satisfying enough for the casual reader of ghost stories. And Hexley Airport makes for an interesting haunted house, though a bit sparse on detail that might have made it a character instead of a setting. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Ten years ago, more than two hundred people died in a horrific plane crash at Hexley Airport.Today, some say their ghosts still haunt the terminal building. When she starts her new job at the airport, working a night shift as part of the security team, Casey assumes the stories about the place can't be true. Even when she has a strange encounter in a deserted part of the departure hall, she's certain that ghosts aren't real.Soon, however, she's forced to face the truth. Not only is there something haunting the airport's buildings and tarmac, but a sinister force is working behind the scenes to replicate the circumstances of the original accident. And as a snowstorm moves in, Hexley Airport looks set to witness yet another disaster. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
