It’s 2am and I have to wake up in 4 hours but once I started this I couldn’t stop. “Orange” is one of the most beautiful, emotional, raw, and heart-felt stories I’ve ever read and it touched me in so many ways. It’s an incredibly special book and I feel like I can’t really write a review at the moment that does it justice. I can’t wait to read the next volume and see how this story concludes. ( ) Have been interested in picking this book up for a while and I'm so glad that I got around to it! This manga is so addictive, I read this first volume of the complete collection at one time and if I had the second one right now I'd read all of it too! I love the story, characters, and the drawing so much! The tension created from knowing your future and struggling with how your decisions in the present will change it for the good or bad is constantly present. I can't wait to see what happens next. I am absolutely blown away by this manga. Its been years since I read any but this was recommended by a YouTuber for the Asian Readathon challenge and I am so, so happy that I picked it up. This is really giving me all the feels right now. I need to get my hands on the second collection ASAP. This manga covers so much, love, relationships, mental illness, suicide, friends, family, etc. The artwork is fantastic as well, I just can't believe how incredibly talented this author/artist is. I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. Trigger Warnings: mentions of suicide The morning of the first day of 11th grade, Naho receives a letter from herself ten years in the future. At first, she writes it off as a prank, but incidents written in the letter begin coming true! Naho realizes the letter might be the real deal. The letter from the future tells Naho that a new transfer student, and boy named Kakeru, will soon join her class, and she needs to do everything she can to watch over him and save him from a terrible future. But how can Naho do that when she’s not even sure she has the confidence in herself? I’ve been eying this book for quite some time and was just now able to pick it up at the bookstore. At first I knew I would enjoy it based on the artwork on the cover, but then after reading the back, I knew I would be hooked. And of course, I was. This book is sweet. It really shows not only that amazing friend dynamic everyone wants in high school, but also what it’s like around your first real crush. No joke, this group of friends is the cutest and they’re all so supportive of each other. The girls constantly had me giggling when they’d try to be *subtle* about Naho and Kakeru. The book is also a bit heartbreaking. You find out early on that Kakeru isn’t around, and a part of me thought the reason why was the reason. Having that information just made my heart ache every time something didn’t go as planned for Naho. I want everyone to be happy and always smiling! The art was also beautiful and super cute. I did have a few spots with dialogue where I wasn’t 100% sure who was talking, but I usually figured it out, it obviously wasn’t enough of an issue to take away any of my rating. Luckily my library has a copy of The Complete Collection #2 that I will be picking up as soon as I click enter on this review. I need to know what happens! Reading through other people’s reviews, I just found out there’s an anime series, so that’s now added to my list of things I need to watch. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
