I thought it was an engaging story and would read the next book if it came out. ( )Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I received this from early reviewers in exchange for an honest review. I felt like the story and topic are a little over done. I had difficulty getting wrapped up in the storyline, it was too predictable. Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I received 'Foamers' by Justin Kassab in exchange for an honest review. When a read the blurb, it intrigued me. The main character, besides having to face end-of-world, was also saddle with handicap. I thought that would make an interesting zombie story. I wondered where the author would take it. I am sorry to say, that it disappointed me. It was obvious the author put a lot of hard work on his story. However, the outline felt it followed the typical zombie story, and followed to the last dot on i's just made it another forgettable story. This dragged my reading. If I had not accepted the book in exchange for review, I would have stopped reading it. Some zombie fanatics might light it. However, if you are looking for more than typical formulaic zombie story I would not recommend it. Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. Justin Kassab's "Foamers" looks to capitalize on the recent success of the teen dystopian genre. "Foamers" is well conceived in its setting, character development, and materialism, allowing the reader to achieve a sense of realism, which is not a feat easily achieved. "Foamers" provides an excellent foothold into the fast paced and competitive genre, allowing Justin the opportunity to carve out his own place for new followers. If you are looking for a easy to read novel with the perfect mix of action and drama then I would recommend you follow the story of Kade and his friends in "Foamers." Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I received this book through library thing early reviewers. This book detailed the stories of a group of survivors after an apocalyptic plague. There were pros and cons to this book.Pros The writing was solid. I was able to lose myself in the story at some point. I thought it was smooth, and I liked the way the author included the personal notes. I thought it ended well which is a big pet peeve of mine when there is no ending. I liked the overall premise of the story. I have read almost every zombie end of the world book, and I found this one to be slightly unique. Cons Although I realize that with stories you must suspend some elements of belief, I had a hard time with the way things happened in this book. I'm trying to be vague to not spoil the plot of the book. The people just all happened to believe the event was happening really quickly. All the friends and family just so happened to all be outside of the event. When one terrible event happened, the girl just turned against her loved ones like that. It was unbelievable to me. I personally would have questioned at least at first. Some of the coincidences were just too much for me that it took me out of an otherwise enjoyable afternoon story. I think it would be okay for an afternoon, but I probably would not have finished it if I had not promised to write a review. I think a few minor editing changes would have made this book a pretty strong read. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

HTML:After a flu pandemic, a man with a terminal illness becomes one of the few survivors in a transformed world: "Fast-moving, violent, and vividly imagined." â??David Poyer, USA Todayâ??bestselling author of Hunter Killer Diagnosed with Huntington's disease as a child, Kade never expected to live very long. He passed his time learning survival skills that would come in handy during a large-scale catastrophe, but didn't think he'd actually make use of them. Then, when Kade has reached his twenties, the United States is ravaged by the Feline Fluâ??which soon hits pandemic levels. In desperation, a vaccine is rushed out to the publicâ??but it only makes thing worse. It deprives its recipients of their higher functions, leaving them with only their primal urges. The resulting bloodthirsty monsters are known as foamers. And as the world around him descends into the Primal Age, Kade finds that he is expected to lead other survivors in an unrelenting fight for their lives, forced to redefine humanity in a world without law . . . "A worthy addition to the canon of postapocalyptic fiction . . . like the best of such books, at its heart it's a frontier novel, brutal and exciting." â??Tim McLoughlin, author of Heart of the O Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
