Though it sometimes feels a bit haphazard in its construction and it assumes you have a good bit of background on French music and cinema of the 60s, it nevertheless a work of love for a specific era and genre that provides a lot of detail and insight.

I got into yé-yé after seeing Chantal Goya in Godard's Masulin Feminine and being blown away by her contributions to the soundtrack. From there I discovered many of the other big names of the genre, all of which are covered there alongside a good number of one-hit wonders. Though a lot of the lesser known artists were interviewed directly, it seems like not many of the big names were, which is kind of a shame.
