Wow...what can I say. This is another excellent addition to Scott Sigler's GFL universe of maniac gangsters and larger than life football stars. This novella written with Matt Wallace tells the side story of how Fred finds Quentin's sister, Jeanine. The story provides an in depth look into Fred's dark past while showing how he will begin to heal from all the pain and suffering he's lived through.

Fred was always one of my favorite secondary characters in the GFL books. His super secret detective skills and ability to disguise himself mixed well with the charactarization of him as a very dangerous and witty man. This novella takes that even further and it's a sad journey much of the time. Fred's past is not pleasant, though his journey of personal redemption is worthwhile.

If you enjoy the GFL, spend some time with The Detective. ( )
