I found this to be an interesting perspective on a zombie tale. This is the first zombie tale I've listened to and liked that it was told through the eyes of a dog. What does Sean Runnette bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book? Sean Runnette brings the characters to life with all the different tone and inflictions that he uses for each of the characters. It really helped me to visualise, almost like watching a movie but without the actual picture part. Any additional comments? The storyline progressed well and the characters, though mostly animals, were interesting in the way they reacted to the situation they were facing and the choices they made based on that. This is categorised as YA but I have to say the description of the violence I found very graphic and quite horrifying. It will be interesting to see where the story goes with next lot of books in the series. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

When the zombie apocalypse struck, intrepid American bulldog Riley quickly discovered it was up to her to keep the pack safe. Together with Yorkshire terrier Ben-Ben and former archenemy Patches the cat, Riley helped to keep the zombies at bay while favorite human Jessie traveled cross-country to find safety for herself and her baby brother, Zachary. But after a long journey, Riley and the gang arrive in Las Vegas-one of the few remaining inhabited cities-only to find that it has been taken over by a group of thugs who rule through fear and brutality. Making matters worse, ruler Icely and his gang have taken to staging dog fights as popular entertainment, and Riley catches their eye. With Riley forced to fight for her life and Jessie locked up in the home of Icely himself, the future is uncertain. Will Riley save the day once more and help her pack escape to safety? - Bad thing happens;
- Good people try to survive;
- Bad people screw things up;
- After a long struggle good people get rid of bad people and find a safe haven and live happily ever after.
This story is not like this at all.
In fact, Riley is such a good girl, she'd probably just carry on biting all the bad people to look after her pack.
I can just see her in my mind's eye with all the little mannerisms, as well as Ben-Ben, who is exactly the type of dog that gets on my nerves cause they aren't very intelligent and extremely noisy. Patches is the typical cat...only in it for themselves.
Thoroughly enjoyable and a must for any animal lover with the animals humorous outlook on life. ( )
