Ms. Middleton writes in her introduction "I know many of you will have picked up this book out of nothing more than curiosity." Very intuitive for that IS the reason I requested it from my library. It is indeed because of her celebrity that I was interested in this crafty/recipe book for special occassions at all.
I was completely surprised by the layout of this beautiful book. Divided by the seasons of the year and the occasions within each season the reader embarks on what gracious living is all about. Making each event special, sharing laughter and a good meal with friends and family. Though some ideas were not new to me there were plenty that I would like to try. The recipes and the crafts are not burdensome nor complicated but dishes and crafts that young and not so young would attempt.
This is one book I look forward to adding to my personal library. ( )
