This non-fiction text discusses what is true and false about amphibians. Each page of the book gives one fact or one "thought to be fact" that is false. For an example: It is true that amphibians generally spend their lives part in water and part on land. Almost all are born in lakes, ponds, or streams. As adults, most amphibians leave the water to live at least some of their lives on land. Some continue to live near water. Others settle in places far from water. But most return to water to lay eggs. Each page has a different fact or different "thought to be fact" and describes in detail what amphibians really do. Each page also depicts pictures of different types of amphibians. I believe this text would be most helpful for students that are 2nd grade up to 4th grade. It is a non-fiction text that gives us a lot of information about amphibians and how they live around us. An example of a false fact is that toads cannot jump as well as frogs. This isn't true because although toads rarely jump and usually walk on their legs. When attacked frogs with jump away, but toads will bury themselves underground. This book is definitely something i would use in my classroom as a non-fiction model regarding facts about amphibians. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
