"Plague" is one of those books that, once I started reading it, I couldn't put down. The story progresses quickly and events are continuously unfolding across the world. I do not have a scientific background, but a few things in the book even forced me to suspend disbelief a bit, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. The ending felt a bit rushed, in a way - it seemed as though a few more pages could have been devoted to wrapping up the ending, but I was satisfied with the story as a whole. Would definitely consider reading more by Methos. I am actually surprised that I can give this book 3 stars. I read this book for a challenge and normally my Least Favorite genre is science fiction then adding horror in I would usually run in fear from these genres I actually found myself liking most of the characters and the plot of the story. The only trouble is there was about 100 pages that bored me to tears. I felt like it took so long to get where we were going! Other than that pretty decent read! Nice attempt at a thriller. Started strong, and even seemed plausible, at first that is. Explanations of spread of viral outbreak were interesting, but story unravelled as tried to go into the shadows to explain why it happened. Ending felt like Word Count was reached and author pushed Send to their Publisher. Not planning to read the sequels. Not recommended unless you can commit to reading all three novels. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

But here we are, the world is facing a pandemic that has changed our way of doing tremendously. Suddenly the fictitious books become more real and you can understand the heartache of being in quarantine, of businesses closing, the streets ghostly in their silence. Not touching anyone.
I have this book on my TBR list since 2012 and only could read it now. The similarities in human behaviour is not fiction any longer. The author's insight into such an occurance an eye-opener. This is really a very well written plot and the author definitely understand the backstory to give us a thrilling tale.
It is a fast paced book that takes you to the picturesq Hawai and then the beauty fades as secrets are revealed while people die at a speeding rate. I have now a better understanding of how the CDC works, the reasons for the human behaviour as greed and survival comes to the surface, and the absolute futality of it all when this sickness had no reason or does not discrimenate.
Really a good story... it makes you think. ( )
