I felt like the "author" main character forgave a little too easily for my liking, especially after the abuse she had endured. This book was just ok. ( ) A booktok recommended this book so I decided to read it. Another sad book to add to my shelves. I wanted more justice for Tuesday. Her family and school failed her. - POPSUGAR 2021 READING CHALLENGE - A book featuring three generations (grandparent, parent, child) • There are 3 generations in this book. Tuesday, her parents, and her grandmother. Questa recensione è stata scritta per gli Omaggi dei Membri di LibraryThing . I could hardly put it down, a real page-turner. Although the subject matter is of a dark nature, child abuse at the hands of one's own mother, Tuesday seems to survive with all the fortitude we would expect from a child who is the product of a loving home. At times it was so intense that it brought tears to my eyes and left me shaking my head as to what would possess a mother to hurt her own child in such a manner. I did not like the ending though, not because it wasn't good but because part of me wanted the mother to GET it in the end. Have your tissues handy when you read this one but read you should! I read it entirely in one sitting, and cried through the entire book. Best book I have read in a long time. Highly recommended! But beware of the emotional impact it will have on your soul. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

"At eight-years-old, Tuesday Storm's childhood is forever lost when tragedy sends her family spiraling out of control into irrevocable dysfunction. For no apparent reason, Tuesday is singled out from her siblings, blamed for her family's problems, and targeted for unspeakable abuse. Suddenly, the loving environment she's come to know becomes an endless nightmare of twisted punishments as she's forced to confront the dark cruelty lurking inside the mother she idolizes. Based on a true story, Call Me Tuesday recounts a family's painful journey through the hidden horrors of child abuse, and a young girl's physical and mental torment at the mercy of the monster in her mother's clothes -- a monster she doesn't know how to stop loving."--Back cover.
