It's evening in the forest and Little Owl wakes up from his day-long sleep to watch his friends enjoying the night. A cute simple story with nice illustrations about what an owl and the creatures around him do during the night. It does a nice job of describing how night becomes day again, if read out loud without showing the pictures first it would make a nice example of visualization. ( )

Very well done children's book. Engaging and educational. Great info about nocturnal animals and the foods they eat as well as other animal behaviors, but done in a narrative style that feels like a fun, fictional storybook. My kids (ages 2, 4, and 6) all thoroughly enjoy read aloud time with this one and I like that this book caters to both their creative and academic natures. The illustrations are simple and cute! We loved talking about other things going on in the pictures, making inferences, and counting objects. This book has a lot of potential for different discussions with multiple readings. ( )
